Territorial disputes throughout the world have come and gone. Erupting from countless reasons, most stemmed from on no more than suspicion and power hunger.

But the current conflict in the middle-east, which has been raging for over a century, witnessing two world wars starting and ending, enemies turning into allies, still sees no end in sight.
The only reason- Religion.
On the one hand, a “Jewish” country, founded at first as a completely secular idea of establishing a democratic state for a persecuted nation- an idea hijacked by Jewish religious extremists in an effort to reinstate Jewish religious law, and rebuild the biblical kingdom.
On the other, the indigenous Arab population, denying any right of non-Muslims over lands considered “holy” (waqf lands) in their texts, refusing any compromise or goodwill towards a nation of Dhimmi – people stated as inferiors in Islamic belief.
A standard territorial conflict, not unlike many others, has become unsolvable because of religion. Each side, acting not on rationality, but on blind orders of “sacred” texts – is completely unable to compromise without betraying the religious code.
The mutual crimes carried out by both parties in the Middle East will undoubtedly take time to heal – but one can surely say that as long as religion remains the motivating factor behind the warring parties – there is no hope of peace.
Nowhere is Atheism more dearly needed than in the Middle East.
This blog’s really quite intersting.. Thankyou
Thanks for the great blog, I couldn’t agree more with you. I think that adding an Arabic version of the same content might help get the point across to a wider audience. I can help you with that, please contact me if you are interested.

well thanks for the great job… you have educated me with a good deal of information.
and yes I believe that middle east’s ideal solution for all crisis is by laying down their religion and deal with issues as they are on human basis.
